A lot of great things are happening in international projects of the Dutch Water Authorities, and this deserves to be seen! That’s why the NWB Fund will once again award a prize for the most inspiring video on this topic: the NWB Award 2026.
What can you win?
You can win a cash prize of 5,000 euros for your project, a spot on the Wall of Fame in the Unie office in The Hague, and a feature in the magazine Waterschapspiegel.
What do you need to do?Create a short video about your project of max. 2 minutes and send it before September 1st to the NWB Fund (attn. programme manager Marion Wierda: mwierda@uvw.nl).The video must be about international cooperation in the field of integrated water management in which water authorities participate—usually within the Blue Deal, but it may also be outside of it.
This year’s theme is reciprocity, referring to equality in cooperation between countries in the global north and south, peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge and experience, and mutual learning by both the international partners and Dutch water authorities.
How will submissions be evaluated? The evaluation criteria are:
Content: alignment with the theme of reciprocity
Technical quality: image and sound are semi-professional (self-made, but some professional help is allowed)
Storyline: the viewer is taken along, with a clear message
Consistency: what you see illustrates what you hear
Local colour: local partners and stakeholders also have a voice
When will the winner be announced? The winner will be chosen by a combination of a Dutch expert jury, global online voting, and the audience choice during the NWB Fund’s 20th anniversary celebration on October 8th. The award ceremony will also take place then. More information about the voting procedure and the event will follow later.
Hopefully, you feel inspired to pick up your phone or camera and start filming. After South Africa, Peru and Tanzania, this year your country might become the winner. If you have any questions, please reach out. And keep an eye on the Fund’s website for additional information (www.nwbfonds.nl).
