Vote now: which video wins the NWB Award 2026?

The race for the NWB Award 2026 has begun. This week, an expert jury reviewed all eleven entries and selected a shortlist of three videos in which this year’s theme, ‘reciprocity’ in international cooperation, comes across most strongly. Until Tuesday 6th October, all water authority employees and international partners around the world can vote for their favourite.
Three nominees
The shortlist, in no particular order:
Seeds of reciprocity: Romania and the Netherlands growing water solutions together (Blue Deal Romania)
Holding water, sharing knowledge: Burkina Faso and the Netherlands working together on climate resilience (Blue Deal Burkina Faso)
Reciprocity in Peru: water teaches us to learn together (Blue Deal Peru)
What the jury saw
The jury was pleased with both the number of entries and their quality: eleven videos were submitted this year, and the standard keeps rising with every edition. At the same time, the jury noticed that in many videos, however engaging, the theme of reciprocity did not come through strongly. The three shortlisted videos are the ones in which it did, though in the jury’s eyes, every entry deserves an honourable mention. To the jury, this underlines exactly why this conversation matters: reciprocity is central to the NWB Fund’s newly adopted strategy and to its anniversary event on 8th October, where two guest speakers will address the theme.

The prize
The winner will be announced on the afternoon of Thursday 8th October in Amersfoort, during the celebration of the NWB Fund’s 20th anniversary. Your vote counts: the winner is decided by a combination of the digital votes cast in advance and the votes of the audience in the room. The winning project receives 5,000 euros, a place on the Wall of Fame at the office of the Dutch Water Authorities in The Hague, and a feature in Waterkracht magazine.
